How to Wear Winter White in a Way That Feels Timeless
By Laura Carson Miller
Greetings my friends!
Winter white: elegant, fresh, and somehow still intimidating. Let’s demystify it with these tips — no dry-cleaning panic required.
- Mix your whites
Cream, ivory, ecru ~ matchy-matchy. Texture does the heavy lifting. - Balance with contrast
Add camel, chocolate brown, black, or denim so it feels intentional, not bridal. - Play with texture
Knits, wool, leather, suede—this is what makes winter white feel winter. - Accessories anchor the look
Belts, boots, bags, and sunglasses ground white and make it feel wearable. - Yes, you can wear it in real life
Life happens. Lint rollers exist. So do stains. Get one of those stain pens to carry in your purse. It’ll be okay!!
I have a beautiful winter white coat I bought last year, similar to the one shown above. It’s actually from H&M and it looks very high end. I love the style and fit so much I also purchased it in black. The coat is a great weight, perfect over a cashmere sweater in fall and winter, plus I wear it into the spring when it’s still chilly over a button up or luxe t-shirt. If you have a winter white bag it definitely compliments a winter white sweater, jacket or coat. Anytime you mirror colors with your bag and other items in your outfit you look instantly put together.
Winter white isn’t precious—it’s powerful. So go ahead. Wear it like you mean it.
