Create a Bedroom Sanctuary
By Laura Carson Miller
Hello my friends!
How is your January going??
Today I’m sharing some tips to help you create a bedroom sanctuary you can’t wait to retire to each evening!
Your bedroom needs to be comfortable, stylish and a place you can easily unwind and get the rest you need to prepare for the following day.
Making sure you have bedding that envelopes you in a relaxing cocoon is imperative as is having the right furniture including a properly sized side table for your books and beauty products, plus your water and remote controls. Proper lighting is key ~ the floor lamp shown here is gorgeous and won’t break the bank.
When it comes to sheets, some people like flannel in winter while others prefer percale or bamboo. These days sheets, duvets, blankets and comforters are available in so many materials providing different textures and levels of coziness, you are sure to find the ones that are perfect for you.
An air filtering house plant, such as a snake plant, pothos or fiddle leaf fig, in a pretty planter is a win/win in your bedroom. Not only does it bring the outdoors in and look lush and beautiful, it truly does clean the air while you are reading, sleeping and getting ready each morning! There are many wonderful plant stands to choose from. Stores such as West Elm and Crate & Barrel, Home Depot, TJ Maxx or Target and of course Amazon offer plant stands in a variety of colors and constructed from different materials to compliment your bedroom interiors choices. You can choose something chicly understated or a total showstopper that is a complete departure from the rest of your bedroom decor.
January is a perfect time to upgrade or refresh your own bedroom (or your guest room.) It should be a sanctuary completely tailored to you wants and needs, where you can easily unwind and prepare for your very best tomorrow. I hope these tips help and you can shop this collage in my LTK shop ~ go to the Shop page here on my website to access my LTK. Sleep tight, my friends.
