Better Off Red
By Laura Carson Miller
Hello friends ~ how is your day going?
I’ve been curating a lot of casually chic outfits that work for travel and for celebrating holidays, be it at home or out at a restaurant. If you’re looking for a Thanksgiving outfit perhaps this look can provide some inspiration.
This is one of my particular favorites!
The red sweater is really perfect. It has a pretty rolled neck and cable design and it’s festive and chic! (It’s also available in other colors.) Straight leg jeans flatter all figures and while this pair is a medium wash you can wear a dark wash or even black pair of jeans if you want to elevate the look. You could certainly swap in a pair of black Ponte pants here, too.
I am such a fan of accessories that match or have colors that tie them together as this formula always provides a more sophisticated look than if you wear different color accessories. Not that I don’t mix and match, and you should too, it simply provides a different vibe that is not as elevated. The flats shown here are very afforable and the bag is a great quality choice for long term wear. A calf hair belt in animal print will go with everything you already have in your closet!
One of the reasons cold weather brings me joy is because I love jackets and coats! They really can add the piece de resistance to your outfit and should be chosen with care. It can be tempting to purchase outerwear just because you like the look but always be sure you are buying pieces that are appropriate for your exact climate. The coat shown here has both a modern and classic vibe ~ which I adore as it’s bascially how I see myself and the way I chose to dress ~ and is availble in several colors. For me the camel is so stylish and chic. It will always be in style and looks beautiful with a high end dress or jeans and a sweatshirt.
